I am Mattea, a BFA Costume Design student at the Academy of Art University. I began teaching myself to sew when I was about 12. I spent most of my high school years learning to design by taking old clothes apart. Originally, I planned to study fashion, but my love of films influenced my designs before I ever considered it a possible career path. Once I took my first costume design course, there was no turning back. It clicked with me, and through my studies, I continue to refine my unique aesthetic as a designer and expand my skills.
